CHIEFS START 2012 SEASON WITH A SPLIT

(Hammond) The Hammond Chiefs opened the 2012 season with a split.  The Chiefs captured game with a 5 -1 win over the Hammond Hurricanes (Purple).  Tyler Sroczynski (Illiana Christian) set the table for the Chiefs with a 3 for 4 day with two doubles and an RBI.  Alex Del Rio (Munster) provided another offensive spark with a two for three day and two RBI's.  The Indians used three pitchers, Andrew Ray (Michigan City), Mike Poulos (Munster), and Mike Gianokis (Brother Rice) to shut down the Hurricanes.

In Game #2, Tony Curatolo struck out Six Chiefs leading the Hammond Hurricanes (Black) to a 6 -2 Victory.
