Chiefs belt three homeruns on way to 15-1 win
Mike Brosseau (Andrean) started the onslaught as the second batter of the game. After Kody Alayon led off the game with a single up the middle, Brosseau hit a line shot to left center for 2-0 Chiefs lead. After the Hammond scored another run, Cody Dykema (Lake Central) hit a monster homerun to left center that cleared the fences by at least 75 feet. Aveeno Nasiloski (Hammond Gavit) then finished the homerun parade with another long home run to left center. DJ Griffin (Hammond Morton) and Elliot Bajda (Whiting) joined the hit parade with long doubles and the Chiefs finished off Lombard by the score of 15-1 in 5 innings of play. Hammond used 3 pitchers against Lombard. Cody Dykema, started and picked up his first pitching victory since his sophomore year of high school. Dykema (1-0) allowed one hit in 2 innings and no runs. Aveeno Nasiloski then entered the contest and continued a strong outing on the mound before giving way to Elliot Badja. The Chiefs return to action against Hegwisch Express tonight at 7:00 pm at Riverside Park.
