Chiefs Finish 2-1 in pool Play At Michigan

Game #3
The Chiefs responded in game three against previously unbeaten Michigan Dawgs.  The Chiefs jumped out early and continued to pound hits and score runs in the 10-0 win.  Christian Rodriguez (Whitney Young) hit is first homerun of the summer with a blast over the right field fence.  Danny Pobereyko (Bishop Noll Institute) used his fastball and change up to hold the Dawgs at bay.  Pobereyko allowed one hit in the win to run his record to 4-0 for the summer. 

Game #2
The Chiefs built a lead through 6 innings with good pitching, timely hitting, and defense.  The only problem is the game is seven innings.  With the a 4-3 lead, the chiefs allowed 8 runs over the last inning to fall to the Michigan Bulls by a score of 11-4.  Andrew Ray (Michigan City) came in relief of Michael Poulos (Munster) and Chad Majeja (Bishop Noll) to take the loss for the Chiefs.  Josh VanBeek (Illiana Christian) had another big blow with a monster homerun over the 30 foot wall in left field at the University of Michigan.  The Chiefs almost had another bomb when Cody Moskovsky (Bishop Noll Institue) doubled high off the wall in left. 

Game #1
The Chiefs jumped out to a 5 run first innings against the Loyola Maroons at Chelsea High School in Michigan.   After the first inning, the chiefs gave the Maroons 6 runs to fall behind.  After the the first innings it was all chiefs in the 14-6 victory.  Jonathon Vercimak (Lake Central) came in relief of Josh VanBeek (Illiana Christian) to pick up the win for the Chiefs.  VanBeek (Illiana Christian) had a big blow offensively with a big homerun over the fould pole in left field.
