Ruthrauff leads Indiana Chiefs 14U to 28-3 victory

An impressive two-way performance from Justin Ruthrauff led Indiana Chiefs 14U to a 28-3 win Sunday over Hammond Babe Ruth, as Ruthrauff came up huge at the dish and on the rubber.

Ruthrauff racked up four RBIs on four hits for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the sixth innings.

Ruthrauff pitched lights out for Indiana Chiefs 14U. Ruthrauff held Hammond Babe Ruth hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.

Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed Indiana Chiefs 14U to easily put away Hammond Babe Ruth. An RBI double by Mike Madura, an error, and an RBI single by Ruthrauff during the first inning helped Indiana Chiefs 14U put some runs on the board early.

Alex Dobrzeniecki got the win for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He pitched one shutout inning. Dobrzeniecki struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.

Indiana Chiefs 14U pounded Hammond Babe Ruth pitching, as eight hitters combined for 23 hits, 21 RBIs and 21 runs scored.

Indiana Chiefs 14U tacked on another four runs in the third. A hit into a fielder’s choice scored Evan Hylek for the inning’s first run. That was followed up byJason Lamont’s single, plating Madura.

Indiana Chiefs 14U pushed across three runs in both the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Indiana Chiefs 14U scored on an RBI single by Hylek, bringing home Troy Mead.

Indiana Chiefs 14U piled on three more runs in the top of the fifth. The inning looked promising, as Chris Manyek singled, scoring Ruthrauff to kick things off.

Indiana Chiefs 14U increased its lead with 14 runs in the sixth. Lamont’s single got things going, plating Hylek. That was followed up by Ruthrauff’s double, scoring Mike Popp and Lamont.
