Indiana Chiefs 14U jumps on South Shore Stealheads early and coasts to 12-1 win

Indiana Chiefs 14U jumped out to an early lead on South Shore Stealheads and captured a 12-1 victory on Sunday at Riverside Park.

With six runs in the first three innings, Indiana Chiefs 14U left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Troy Mead, a passed ball, a groundout by Pat Manyek, an RBI double by Jason Lamont, and an RBI single by Mike Madura during the first inning supplied the early offense for Indiana Chiefs 14U.

Mead boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace Indiana Chiefs 14U.

South Shore Stealheads had no answer for Justin Ruthrauff, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Ruthrauff gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four during his four innings of work.

Alex Dobrzeniecki got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered two hits.

Indiana Chiefs 14U pounded South Shore Stealheads pitching, as six hitters combined for 11 hits, seven RBIs and 10 runs scored.
