Chiefs 14U Sweeps Double Header against Flosswood Hawks in Home Opener

A seven-run explosion in the fifth inning hoisted Indiana Chiefs 14U to a 9-1 win in seven innings over Flosswood Hawks at Riverside Park on Sunday.

Indiana Chiefs 14U was led by Evan Hylek’s hitting. Hylek went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and sixth innings.

Alex Dobrzeniecki struck out six hitters en route to the Indiana Chiefs 14U win. Dobrzeniecki allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks over six innings.

Indiana Chiefs 14U never trailed after scoring one run in the first on an RBI double by Mike Madura.

It didn’t take long for Indiana Chiefs 14U to answer as it scored one run of its own in the sixth. Indiana Chiefs 14U scored on a passed ball.

Indiana Chiefs 14U and Flosswood Hawks exchanged the lead four times on Sunday, but Indiana Chiefs 14U ended up on top with a 4-2 win in seven innings over Flosswood Hawks.

Indiana Chiefs 14U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong fifth inning. An error scored Will Kulcher and gave Indiana Chiefs 14U the lead for good.

Jason Lamont recorded the win for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He allowed two runs over five innings. Lamont struck out four, walked three and gave up three hits.

Neither team scored until the fourth when Flosswood Hawks got on the board. Flosswood Hawks scored on an RBI single by Olivia.

It didn’t take long for Indiana Chiefs 14U to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the fourth. Indiana Chiefs 14U scored on a two-run single by Alex Dobrzeniecki.
