Pat Manyek went 2-3 as Indiana Chiefs 14U took home a 9-7 victory over Oak Forest Blue Deamons in eight innings at Ho Chunk on Monday.

He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Oak Forest Blue Deamons couldn’t get anything going so long as Alex Dobrzeniecki was on the hill. Oak Forest Blue Deamons managed just two hits off of the Indiana Chiefs 14U’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his five innings of work.

Ben Ostrowski recorded the win for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. Ostrowski struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

SEMI-FINAL

Indiana Chiefs 14U and Chesterton Slammers traded the lead seven times on Monday, but Indiana Chiefs 14U ended up on top with a 6-5 win in eight innings over Chesterton Slammers.

Indiana Chiefs 14U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong eighth inning. A walk by Will Kulcher scored Mike Popp and gave Indiana Chiefs 14U the lead for good.

Alex Dobrzeniecki recorded the win for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

The bottom of the first saw Indiana Chiefs 14U take an early lead, 1-0. A single by Mike Madura, plating Evan Hylek started the inning off.

Chesterton Slammers pushed across one run in both the sixth inning and the eighth. In the sixth, Chesterton Slammers scored on an RBI single by Baldwin, scoring R.J. Snyder.

Indiana Chiefs 14U didn’t give up the lead after the eighth inning. Additional runs came from an RBI single by Dobrzeniecki.

GAME #3

Indiana Chiefs 14U rolled over Triple Crown Stealth 14-0 on Sunday at South Suburban College after a nine-run rally in the third inning.

Troy Mead got on base two times in the game for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He tripled in the third inning.

Triple Crown Stealth couldn’t get anything going so long as Ben Ostrowski was on the hill. Triple Crown Stealth managed just one hit off of the Indiana Chiefs 14U’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out four during his three innings of work

GAME #2

Bridgeport Bombers Silver didn’t have a chance on Saturday, as Indiana Chiefs 14U won in blowout fashion, 17-6 in five innings at South Suburban College.

Indiana Chiefs 14U scored eight runs in the fifth on an RBI single by Noah Davis, an RBI single by Nick Bandura, a two-run double by Alex Dobrzeniecki, a two-run double by Joey O’Keefe, and an RBI single by Evan Hylek.

Will Kulcher racked up two RBIs on one hit for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He singled in the third inning.

Bridgeport Bombers Silver had no answer for Justin Ruthrauff, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Ruthrauff held Bridgeport Bombers Silver hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one.

Dobrzeniecki recorded the win for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He allowed one run over two innings. Dobrzeniecki struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

Indiana Chiefs 14U never trailed after scoring two runs in the first on a two-run single by Ruthrauff.

Indiana Chiefs 14U added six more runs in the top of the third. A clutch error scored O’Keefe to open the scoring in the frame. That was followed up by Kulcher’s single, plating Chris Manyek and Hylek.

Five runs in the bottom of the third helped Bridgeport Bombers Silver close its deficit to 8-6. A sacrifice fly by Robert Chayka, an RBI single by Sam Willis, an error, and an RBI single by Patrick Sulls gave Bridgeport Bombers Silver life. Finally, Ruthrauff induced an inning-ending ground out from Joey Arredia

GAME #1

Indiana Chiefs 14U rolled over Homewood Hawks 9-1 on Saturday at Ho Chunk after a six-run rally in the third inning.

It was a good day at the plate for Indiana Chiefs 14U’s Justin Ruthrauff. Ruthrauff went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third inning and tripled in the fifth inning.

Indiana Chiefs 14U got the win thanks in large part to Jason Lamont’s dominant, nine-strikeout performance. Lamont allowed one earned run, two hits and four walks over six innings.

Indiana Chiefs 14U built upon its lead with two runs in the sixth. A ground out scored Noah Davis to start the scoring in the inning.
