GAME #4

Both Indiana Chiefs 14U and Lake in the Hills Thunder put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was Indiana Chiefs 14U that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 5-4 win at Cincinnati, OH.

Lake in the Hills Thunder had nine hits compared with Indiana Chiefs 14U’s six, but Lake in the Hills Thunder stranded six runners on base.

Indiana Chiefs 14U staved off Lake in the Hills Thunder as Lake in the Hills Thunder was unable to match Indiana Chiefs 14U down the stretch.

Lake in the Hills Thunder scored on a sacrifice fly by Eric Helm and a sacrifice fly by Thomas Laurie in the third inning and a fielder’s choice in the fourth inning. Despite its efforts, Lake in the Hills Thunder couldn’t get over the hump.

Pat Manyek racked up three RBIs on two hits for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He singled in the first and third innings.

Indiana Chiefs 14U increased its lead with two runs in the third. Pat started the inning with a single, scoring Joey O’Keefe. That was followed up by Troy Mead’s single, plating Chris Manyek.

GAME #5

Indiana Chiefs 14U fell 13-3 to D1 Hoosiers on Saturday.

Evan Hylek got on base two times in the game for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He also drove in one runner. He singled in the second inning.

Northeva got the win for D1 Hoosiers. He allowed three runs over four innings. Northeva struck out four, walked three and gave up three hits.

D1 Hoosiers pounded Indiana Chiefs 14U pitching, as six hitters combined for eight hits, 12 RBIs and eight runs scored.

The lead stayed with D1 Hoosiers after the second, when it scored 10 runs on a two-run double by D Hensley, an error, two three-run blasts, and an RBI single by Mathews.
