Dear Players & Parents: We will be having sign ups for the 2011 Hammond Chiefs Wooden Bat Fall league on the following days: Saturday, July 23 – 11:00AM to 1:00PM Sunday, July 24 – Noon to 2:00PM Saturday, July – 30 11:00AM to 1:00PM Sunday, July 31 – Noon to 2:00PM Saturday, August 6 – 11:00AM to 1:00PM Sunday, August 7 – Noon to 2:00PM Saturday, August 13 – 11:00AM to 1:00PM Sunday, August 14 – Noon n to 2:00PM Signs ups will be held at Riverside Park located at 7900 Columbia Ave. Hammond, which is just north of the Little Calumet River. Sign ups will be held by the concession stand. The league is for players ages 13-18 years of age as of May 1, 2012. All players who sign up will have an evaluation / tryout on Sunday August 21st for the purpose of being placed on a team. Players will be assigned a time for the tryout at sign-ups. All players who sign-up will be assigned to a team within a week after the tryout. The season will begin on Saturday, September 3rd and will run through mid October. All teams will play 1 game on Saturday and 1 game on Sunday. The season will conclude with a tournament the last weekend. All teams will play 12 regular games and a tournament. The cost is $100 for Hammond residents and $125 for non Hammond residents. Sign-ups are limited to the first 105 players who register. We will provide each player with a T-shirt and cap.
