Indiana Chiefs 14U drops high-scoring affair to the Midwest Rangers, 10-8
Indiana Chiefs 14U fell 10-8 to the Midwest Rangers in seven innings on Wednesday at Ho Chunk despite racking up seven hits and eight runs.
Troy Mead racked up two RBIs on two hits for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He singled in the first and fifth innings.
Blade got the win for the Midwest Rangers. He allowed one run over 2 2/3 innings. Blade struck out three, walked four and gave up no hits.
The Midwest Rangers’ Blade, Justin Correll and AJ combined for five hits and five RBIs.
The lead stayed with the Midwest Rangers after the third, when they scored four runs on three singles.
The Midwest Rangers increased their lead with three runs in the fifth. Blade kicked things off with a double, scoring Jordan and Correll. That was followed up by Colin’s single, scoring Blade.
Five runs in the bottom of the fifth helped Indiana Chiefs 14U close its deficit to 8-7. An RBI single by Evan Hylek, a two-run double by Nick Bandura, and a two-run single by Mead fueled Indiana Chiefs 14U’s comeback. Finally, Blade gotMike Madura to ground out to end the threat.
A one-run seventh inning helped bring Indiana Chiefs 14U within two. A walk by Mead triggered Indiana Chiefs 14U’s comeback. But, Blade got Alex Dobrzeniecki to strike out to end the game.
