The 16/17U Indiana Chiefs started their 2013 summer campaign with a 6-1 victory at Lombard Lightening Tuesday evening. Matt Dvorscak (1-0, Whiting) set the tone going 5 strong innings in which he only allowed two hits while striking out five. Clay Keltner (Highland) and Kevin O’Donnell (Highland) each threw two solid innings in relief and the Chiefs played error-free baseball in the field. Offensively, the Chiefs only managed six hits and no player had more than one. Nick Podkul (Andrean) was the only player to score twice and Alex Vode (Andrean) was the only player to drive in two runs.

The next 17U Indiana Chiefs game is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7pm at ‘Lady Riverside’ in Hammond against the Hegwisch Express with Jimmy Skiff (Andrean) as the probable starter.
