Chiefs win Triton College Classic

The Hammond Chiefs captured the Triton College Classic with their second victory over the Norwood Blues in the Championship game. The Chiefs picked up the 7-4 win with 8 hits. Leading the way for the Chiefs was Mike Brosseau (Andrean) 2-3 with 2 runs, Cody Dykema (Lake Central) 2-4, a double, 2 runs, and 2 RBI’s. Aveeno Nasiloski (Hammond Gavit) 1-2 with 2 RBI”s, and Nick Tobye (Andrean) with a triple. Dykema also picked up his third win of the season with 5 innings of three hit ball. Dykema walked three while striking out four. MIke Sammon (Andrean) picked up the hold, and Zach Goldasich (Andrean) picked up the save. The win moves the Chiefs to 29-14 on the season. Hammond has two home games left before they depart to the CABA World Series in Charleston, South Carolina. The Chiefs will open pool play on July 24th.
