Indiana Chiefs 14U’s offense erupts for 21 runs in blowout victory over the Bellwood Reds

Indiana Chiefs 14U continued to pile up the runs on Saturday, scoring five runs in the seventh inning, on the way to a 21-7 landslide win over the Bellwood Reds at Chicago, IL.

Indiana Chiefs 14U scored 10 runs in the fourth on a groundout by Justin Ruthrauff, a solo home run by Evan Hylek, an RBI double by Troy Mead, an error, an RBI single by Mike Madura, a groundout by Jason Lamont, an RBI single byChris Manyek, and a three-run home run by Ruthrauff.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the third, with five lead changes.

Indiana Chiefs 14U finally managed to grab the lead after a strong third inning. An error scored Mead and gave Indiana Chiefs 14U the lead for good.

Hylek got on base five times in the game for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Will Kulcher got the win for Indiana Chiefs 14U. He allowed four runs over 3 1/3 innings. Kulcher struck out four, walked four and gave up one hit.

Indiana Chiefs 14U hammered the Bellwood Reds pitching as seven hitters had a field day, combining for nine hits, 15 RBIs and 17 runs scored.

The top of the first saw Indiana Chiefs 14U take an early lead, 1-0. Hylek singled to ignite Indiana Chiefs 14U’s offense. A stolen base then moved Hylek from first to second.

Indiana Chiefs 14U scored two runs in the second inning, and then followed it up with two more in the third. In the second, Indiana Chiefs 14U scored on a groundout by Chris Manyek, scoring Madura.

It didn’t take long for the Bellwood Reds to respond as they scored two runs of their own in the second. The Bellwood Reds scored on a walk by Anwar and a hit by pitch.
